An enchanting town with canals fed by the river Sorgue flowing through, this used to be an old fishing village recognised for its silk industry which functioned thanks to the large wheels on the Aube river scattered throughout the region. Don't miss the opportunity to stroll along these picturesque waterways and witness the Parting of the Waters, where the cool clear waters of the river Sorgue naturally split into 2 separate water flows.
Isle sur la Sorgue is also a paradise for bargain hunters. It is a stronghold of old artefacts where antique sellers and art enthusiasts come in mass for the two internationally recognised events of the year, one at Easter and the other on the 15 August. Over 500 antique dealers gather here in search of incomparable decorative and second hand objects of art.
