Notre Dame church in Moliets

Here you can discover the Gothic style gateway which was repaired in 1638, the restored 18th century statue made of golden wood, and the 17th century altarpiece. The old Landaise-style houses, the majority of which have been converted, are scattered around the edge of the forest and in the Maâ hamlet. Another must see are the two fountains (Pourruts) of the village and their wash house and the chapel of St Laurent de Maâ, an ancient commandery of the Templar Knights and an important step on the St Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimage.

The Huchet current by boat

A delightful outing to enjoy with the family. The Huchet current flows through the Landaise communes of Vielle Saint Girons, Léon and Moliets and Maa covering more than 600 hectares. It is classed as a natural reserve and is one of the more diverse and rich sites of the region. An outing by ‘galupe’ boat (a traditional flat bottomed barge), along the length of the waterway linking the Léon lake and the ocean, allows you to discover a whole range of landscapes including the marshlands, peat bog and dunes. Numerous protected species of animal hide themselves here, including 200 species of bird, otters, mink, ash herons, turtles, and hundreds of fish, among them the famous eels.

Moliets Golf course

A charming golf course set in the pine forest, in the middle of the gorse and the brooms on vast hilly plains, covering over 350 hectares of forest. The course is very varied, but the most interesting holes are without a doubt those on the beachside: four holes whose shape changes completely according to the weather conditions. The Moliets golf course is built on sand making it usable throughout the year. Please ask onsite for for further information.
